Welcome to my tranquil creative corner of the art world.

My name is Clare Lacanau, a Brisbane based fine art photographer and artist. 

I have spent the last ten years as a professional portrait photographer, specialising in newborn and family photography however have always had a passion for photographing flowers and movement. This leads us to today and why you may be here reading this little blurb about me 🙂 I have decided to pursue this passion and follow my creative inspirations, joining my love of botanicals, movement and my embroidery together to bring you beautiful art pieces that I hope will bring much joy to your lives.

I’m inspired to create gentle, soothing, joyful art work, featuring soft romantic flowers and botanical elements. 

I use light as my paint brush, often with a soft pastel palette. 

These art pieces are created using photographic, in-camera techniques, light and movement. 

It is hoped that they bring a sense of calm and contentment, offering respite from the busyness and stresses of daily life. 

Creating calming spaces and a gentle invitation to slow down, reflect, and just be in the moment, giving you an opportunity to appreciate the beauty within and around you.

I produce unapologetically feminine, original, collectable art pieces, on professional, archival quality, canvas and cotton fine art papers.

A select few works are embellished by hand with embroidery and finished with a paint medium which adds a texture and richness to the piece.

My art allows me to slow down and helps quieten my mind almost like a meditation and I hope by sharing these pieces I am able to share this with you.

I am a certified professional photographer with the Professional Photographers’ Association Queensland (PPAQ) and am located in North Brisbane. 

As a mother of three beautiful children, I understand the importance of a calm and happy household!!
